HAPPY BIRTHDAY America! 230 years and even with all the troubles I noted in that post below, your STILL the GREATESTcountry that has ever existed on Earth.
When we first arrived here, my father thought all the fireworks were in honor of his birthday, and he jokes about it to this day.
Well, Dad, this year they ARE in your honor, and don't let anyone tell you differently. Happy 75th!, and may you still have two quarters to go!

Posted by: Catfish at July 4, 2006 06:24 PMI couldn't agree more.What a great nation that we live in.I also agree that the problems are the people running it and definitely not those protecting it.If fact,if I was not fifty pounds and thirty years past my prime,I would love to be one of the great defenders.I was one cancelled order from going to Nam,I guess it was luck.Still I can not deny that sometimes,in the wee hours of the morning,that it still bothers me.I guess it just wasn't in the cards and I did my best serving stateside.Happy 4th to all and God bless the USA.
