R.I.P.

A music legend died yesterday. Inventor and musician Lester William Polsfuss, died at White Plains Hospital of complications from Pneumonia. He was 94 years young.

So what you say? Are you a fan of Rock and Roll music? Heavy Metal? Country? Blues?, Jazz? If you enjoy any of these forms of entertainment, you owe a great debt to Mr. Polsfuss.

Better known as Les Paul, Mr. Polsfuss was the inventor of the solid body electric guitar, and was the leading developer of multitrack recording techniques
used by almost every recording musician in the world today. He is also credited with inventing or discovering many recording innovations including overdubbing (also known as sound on sound), delay effects such as tape delay, phasing effects, and multitrack recording.

His innovative talents extended into his own playing style, including licks, trills, chording sequences, fretting techniques and timing, which set him apart from his contemporaries and inspired many of the guitarists down to the present day.

In 1941,Les Paul introduced the first solid body electric guitar in the world...the first prototype was a 4'x4" piece of wood with steel strings strung on it. He played the instrument in a local nightclub and was deemed "a nut" for doing it...He added wooden "wings" to what he termed "The Log" to make it look like a more conventional guitar shape and the rest is music history.
Gibson Guitars started marketing the Les Paul Guitar in 1952, and it quickly became THE standard in guitars for a new form of music in it's infancy, a little fad called "Rock and Roll".

Les Paul, along with his wife, Mary Ford, garnered 36 gold records playing with his new invention. They had two number one hits; "VayaCon Dios", and "How High the Moon". His active music career spanned almost 80 years, from 1928 to 2009.

Mr. Paul continued to be an active musician up until the end of his life, playing in various New York night spots. Stars such as Jimmy Page (Led Zepplin), Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), Bruse Springsteen, and Eddie Van Halen would often sit in with him, paying due homage to the Maestro.

He truly left a great legacy that few can come close to matching.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

We have all noticed them. The huge guys at the gym, lifting huge stacks associated with plates and grunting as well as sweating like their head is all about to explode. Their arms are busting from their shirts and their legs seem like they belong to the horse-a muscular horse. Who would like to look like that? This is among the main reasons that some people, although they want to lost weight and look great, refuse to strength train. They are scared that obtaining the heavy iron will turn them into hulking behemoths that can't put their arms down by their side. Nothing could be further from your truth.

Lifting weights will never turn you into the bodybuilder overnight. Getting the type of muscle you see upon those big boys within the gym takes years (10-15) of work, incredibly long exercises, and sometimes, a little -help- from a not so natural source-if you receive my drift. For the majority of us, adding weight training into our exercise program will do exactly what we should want it to. Weight training will help you to lose weight, get in shape, and look better at the beach. You see, for each and every ounce of muscle a person build, your body will accelerate its own internal fat reduction process. The more muscle mass Ab Glider you build, the more fat you had been burn. Now, muscle DOES weigh more than fat, but don't allow that scare you. I mean, what do you really care about, how much you weight, or what you seem like with your shirt away? That is the real test if improving your physique is high on your priority list. Most of us just want to watch the scales and find out the pounds come pouring off, but when you are regularly training with weight load, this oftentimes does not really happen. As you are reducing weight, you are building muscle mass, so your weight may stay the same, but your body may look drastically different. Your own clothes will fit much better, the people at the office will begin to look at your differently and when beach time comes, you may be the first to grab off your shirt!

So, how do you start a good weight training program? The last thing you want to do is hit the gym and begin blasting out arm curls with virtually no idea of what you do. Weight training is serious business and can be very dangerous. One wrong move and you also could wind up lying in bed for 6 months watching the body slip into worse shape than before you decide to started. A solid rule of thumb when beginning to work together with weights is to partner plan someone who knows what they are doing. This is actually a friend who has lots of experience or better yet, a personal trainer. A qualified personal instructor can walk you through a step-by-step process of building an effective weight training program that will help you to reach your goals while avoiding injury as you go along.

So the next time you consider lifting weights, you might not conjure a vision of the well oiled massive figure posing in tiny trunks; you may see yourself, ripped, in form, and looking fantastic thanks to your weight training system.

Mirrors of different designs and sizes are used in bathrooms, according to the size of the bathroom, and individual preference. One of the most prominent functions of a bathroom mirror is to reflect the available light. This may be natural or artificial light.
