A Mere Pittance...

L.C. Brendon over at the Rott posted this piece in honor of Anzac Day in Australia. While it is in honor of the Australian Service members, I like to think that it applies to ALL Soldiers; no matter their Country; no matter their War.

Quote of the Day

"If I thought this war was to abolish slavery, I would resign my commission and offer my sword to the other side." --slave-holding Union General Ulysses S. Grant

The So called "Civil War" was not a Civil war at all; the definition of a civil war is :"two or more factions fighting for control of the National government". The 11 States fighting for the Confederacy were NOT interested in taking over the Federal Government; rather they wished to secede to form their own Confederacy of States that retained their sovereign powers as enumerated under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The Northern States had instituted a system of tariffs that benefited them at the cost of the Southern states. They were, in essence strangling the commerce of the Southern portion of the United States to benefit their own economies. They were also trying to impose their own vision of states rights as being subservient to the Federal Government to the detriment of the sovereignty of the individual States as envisioned by the Founders. I believe that, had any of the Founding Fathers been alive at the time of the conflict; it is almost certain that most of them would have fought on the side of the Confederacy.

Slavery was and is one of the most abhorrent institutions that ever existed on this Continent, but the fact is that slavery was already dying out and probably would not have lasted more than another 50 years at most.

It is interesting to note that the most fervent proponents of slavery at the time were members of the Democratic party; indeed even up to the time of the Civil Rights battles for the equal treatment of the Black race, the most strident voices against the CR Acts were all Democrats; that is why it is puzzling to me to note that the Black portion of our population are so overwhelmingly supportive of the Democratic Party. Whenever the "Race Card" is used; it is trotted out by those that have never really aided the Black race in any just manner; rather it is used to keep that population beholding to the Party for their very sustenance by those that would hold them down from reaching their full potential as free human beings by treating them as somehow not capable of reaching a higher state of equality by dint of their own hard work.

Does racism still exist? YES, it most certainly does. But the most prevalent form of it exists as the slavery of low expectations and use of racial excuses playing on "White Guilt" for past injustices for present conditions.

Now You Know....

On the first day, God created the dog and said, "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of
twenty years.."

The dog said, "That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?"

So God agreed......

On the second day, God created the monkey and said,"Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span."

The monkey
said, "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the dog did?"

And God agreed......

On the third day, God created the cow and said, "You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years."

The cow said, "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?"

And God agreed again......

On the fourth day, God created humans and said, "Eat, sleep,play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years."
But the human said, "Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?"

"Okay," said God. "You asked for it."

So that is why for our first twenty years, we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years, we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years, we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years, we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.

There is no need to thank me for this valuable
information. I'm doing it as a public service.

Quote of the Day

"An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy; because there is a limit beyond which no institution and no property can bear taxation." --John Marshall

Yes, every government does need to tax the people to provide those basic services to be able to function as a society, but we have reached a point far beyond that.

As Alexis de Tocqueville warned: "In other words, a democratic government is the only one in which those who vote for a tax can escape the obligation to pay it."
"The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money. "

The day that Congress discovered that is long past, and we are reaping the results of that discovery.

We need a fundamental change in the system if we are to continue to enjoy the freedom that is our birthright. My own humble solution would be to enact some version of the Fair Tax system. That, coupled with a great reduction in so-called entitlement programs would go a far way to returning our Nation back to it's roots as a Nation of independent free people.

PGR

Yesterday, I participated in my 17th Patriot Guard Rider mission. Sad to say, it was a funeral mission. Another Veteran has gone to meet his maker.

I much prefer meeting the Troops as they come back home, but I feel honored that in some small way that I and my fellow Riders can demonstrate to the families of the deceased that many in our Nation still respect their loved ones for their Service, and that we will continue to do so as long as we exist.

What stood out in this particular mission was that the deceased was a fellow biker and chose to take his Last Ride in a special hearse:

Untitled

Hope I get the same for my Last Ride...and I hope that ride is in the far distant future.

I would urge all of you that ride to check out the PGR and maybe join us on future missions. Believe me, it will do your soul good. You don't need to be a veteran, you don't even need to be a rider; you just have to have respect for the sacrifices our military men and women make every day on our behalf.

Globull Warmening

The UNCCP and others (mostly political special interest groups trying to control various aspects of people's lives) would have us believe that, because of the activities of humans living their normal lives, we are destroying the global climate.
Disregarding the fact that natural events such as volcanoes spew out more toxins and greenhouse gasses in a day than all the industry on Earth can in a month, they continue their headlong drive to restrict any activity that reaches their pea sized brains.

Some new research by geologists have come upon new data that shows that the current warming cycle is most likely caused by a cyclical change in the Earth's orbit. I'm sure that the Global Warming alarmists will either totally disregard this data, or just "so what?; our agenda is idea are still a good one to follow".

When you look at the Global Warming controversy, keep asking yourself two questions:

A. Who is gaining power over the lives of the people by the proposed actions?

B. Who is profiting economically by the proposed actions?

DON'T take ANY assertions about global warming at face value, look into the facts given and see if they make sense to you. "Research the research" to ensure that it was done in a scientifically sound manner and how that research was funded. As in most areas of life, a "follow the money" outlook and a wary skepticism can be invaluable in sorting out fact from fiction.

Is it time for the revolution yet?

I found this comment by 'GLADIATOR' over at the ARE and thought it could stand alone as a post. As G points out, the government is not, and never has been capable of delivering ANY public services without making a total mess of it. Even in "providing for the public defense"; it is fraught with fraud and unwarrented expense to the public coffers.

To All 535 voting members of the Legislature; it is now official you are ALL corrupt:

a.. The U.S. Post Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.

b.. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.

c.. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.

d.. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to “the poor” and they only want more.

e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.

f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.

g.. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every “government service” you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars

AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM? IT’S NOT ABOUT THE NEED FOR GOOD HEALTH CARE, IT’S ABOUT TRUSTING THE GOVERNMENT TO RUN IT.

He takes off his pants and the blonde says,'What massive calves you have!'

The body builder says 'that's a 100lbs of dynamite, baby.'

He then takes off his underwear and the blond goes running out of the apartment screaming in fear.

The body builder puts his clothes back on and goes running after her. He catches up to her and asks her why she ran out of the apartment like that.

She replies, 'I was afraid to be around all that dynamite when I saw how short the fuse was'.

Quote of the Day

"Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the government." --James Madison

The current entitlement programs have NO place in the Founders vision for America. They did have a statement of "providing for the common welfare", but that statement had a much different meaning to the Founders than it does for the "Progressive" movement that is trying to impose ever more onerous entitlement programs on the backs of the taxpayers.

To the Founders, "providing for the common welfare" meant giving everybody the best chance to succeed on each individuals talents and hard work; to the "progressives", it means giving government largess to those that don't have the talent, or the work ethic to succeed on their own.

Considering that government has no money for such largess except that which they can take from the successful producers by the power of the force of the state; such "largess" is, in actuality, the same "largess" that a mugger gains for himself by use of force or intimidation. Therefore, it can be said that "Progressives" are nothing more than thieves. They may have the best intentions of helping the bottom rungs of Society A la Robin Hood, but they still are thieves nonetheless.

What do the Russians know that we don't?

I, and many of my compatriots on the Conservative/libertarian side have been decrying our Nation's descent into Socialism at the hands of "The Big Null", Barrack Hussein Obama. We were, and ARE decried by the opposition as "right wing nuts" and engaging in "McCarthyism".

Well, WHO should know a Socialist/Marxist better than a Russian? After all, they have lived under the yoke of Socialism since 1917...

This was published in Pravda on 4/27/2009 and was written by Stanislav Mishin on his blog as a post on 4/1/2009.

That was a year ago; now look what Obama has done in the year since, and STILL try to tell me that he ISN'T a Marxist/Socialist, and I'll KNOW just what kind of fool YOU are!

American Capitalism, gone with a whimper

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather than the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in D.C. that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonald's burger or a Burger King burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy." Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more than Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more than happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America .

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America 's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Weimar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe ..

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, losses, and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more than ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties, and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more than a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motors) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self-given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So it should be no surprise, that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies... I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less than two months ago, warned Obama and UK's Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper... but a "free man" whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance, and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Frank, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery without a fight, beating his chest, and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

Open Letter to Jesse James

I found this in my E-mail this morning and thought I'd share it with you.

Jesse,
You Stupid Bastard! You cheated on Sandra Bullock?

How in the world can you be so stupid? You are married to one of the most beautiful women in the world; she has a body to die for, and her current wealth and predicted wealth is shadowed only by Oprah, who even Steadman will tell you, isn't attractive.

But your wife, who recently beat out Julia Roberts in the polls and is now the named "America's Sweetheart"; you also remember she just one an Oscar (which translates to more money per picture she makes in the future)...while you were shacking with that tattooed freak, who just happens to be a former stripper and is someone's mommy.

You are really a piece of work! You are the most hated a-hole cheater on the planet! And while the State of California is a no-fault state whereby you may be able to take half of your wife's wealth, in doing so you would only be hated even more...especially after Sandra speech during the Oscars in which she did nothing but praise you. How can you live with yourself after she even cared for your children?

I only have one thing to say to a despicable, miserable, cheating piece of crap that you are:

Thank You!! You really helped to take the heat off of me. Let’s do lunch sometime and compare notes.

Old Fart Football

An old married couple no sooner hit the pillows when the old man passes gas and says, ‘Seven Points.'

His wife rolls over and says, 'What in the world was that?'
The old man replied, 'its fart football.'

A few minutes later his wife lets one go and says ‘Touchdown, tie score.'

After about five minutes the old man lets another one go and says,
'Aha. I'm ahead 14 to 7.'

Not to be outdone the wife rips out another one and says,
'Touchdown, tie score.'

Five seconds go by and she lets out a little squeaker and says,
'Field goal, I lead 17 to 14.' Now the pressure is on the old man.

He refuses to get beaten by a woman, so he strains real hard.
Since defeat is totally unacceptable, he gives it everything he's got, and accidentally shits in the bed.

The wife says, 'What the hell was that?'

The old man says, 'Half time, switch sides.

"Immigrant Style"

From the "it's funny because it's so close to the truth file:

Sex With an Illegal Immigrant - -

An illegal immigrant picks up a hooker. "Hey, how much you charge for da hour, sister?" he asks. "$100," she replies.

In broken English, he says, "Do you do immigrant style?"
"No" she says.

"I pay you $200 to do immigrant style."

"No," she says, not knowing what immigrant style is.

"I pay you $300."

"No," she says.

"I pay you $400."

"No," she says.

So finally he says, "OK, I pay $1,000 to do immigrant style."

She thinks, "Well, I've been in the game for over 10 years now. I've had every kind of request from weirdo's from every part of the world. How bad could immigrant style be?"

So she agrees and has sex with him. Finally, after several hours, they
finish. Exhausted, the hooker turns to him and says, "Hey, I was expecting something perverted and disgusting. But that was good. So, what exactly is immigrant style?"

The illegal immigrant replies, "You send bill to Government."

Guest Post

Race is one of the most politically charged issues facing our nation today. Here is an excellent warning issued by one of the best minds extant in our country. Note which political party constantly uses the race card and ask yourself if this party really does has the best interests of our Nation to heart.

Race and Politics
By Thomas Sowell
April 6, 2010

Few combinations are more poisonous than race and politics. That combination has torn whole nations apart and led to the slaughters of millions in countries around the world.

You might think we would have learned a lesson from that and stay away from injecting race into political issues. Yet playing the race card has become an increasingly common response to growing public anger at the policies of the Obama administration and the way those policies have been imposed.

When the triumphant Democrats made their widely televised walk up Capitol Hill after passing the health care bill, led by a smirking and strutting Nancy Pelosi, holding her over-sized gavel, some of the crowd of citizens expressed their anger. According to some Democrats, these expressions of anger included racial slurs directed at black members of Congress.

This is a serious charge-- and one deserving of some serious evidence. But, despite all the media recording devices on the scene, not to mention recording devices among the crowd gathered there, nobody can come up with a single recorded sound to back up that incendiary charge. Worse yet, some people have claimed that even doubting the charge suggests that you are a racist.

Among the people who are likely to be most disappointed with the Obama administration are those who thought it would usher in a post-racial society. That they wished for such a society is a credit to their values. But that they actually expected a move in that direction suggests that they ignored both Barack Obama's history and the heavy vested interest that too many people have in race hustling.

This is just one of many areas in which this country is likely to pay a very high price for the fact that too many voters paid attention to Obama's rhetoric while ignoring his actual track record.

However soothing the Obama rhetoric, and however lofty his statements about being a uniter rather than a divider-- both racially and in terms of bipartisanship-- everything in his past fairly shouts the opposite, but only to those who follow facts.

Has he been allied with uniters or dividers in the past? Do Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers and Father Pfleger sound like uniters?

What has his administration done-- as distinguished from what the president has said-- since taking office?

It has dropped the prosecution of black thugs caught on camera stationed outside a polling place intimidating voters.

Obama has promoted to the Supreme Court a circuit judge who dismissed a discrimination lawsuit by white firefighters, whose case the Supreme Court later accepted and ruled in their favor.

He preceded this appointment by talking about needing people on the court with "empathy." That is a pretty word but the ugly reality is that it is just another euphemism for bias. For generations, white Southern judges had all kinds of empathy for other white Southerners, which is to say, bias against blacks.

The question is whether you want equal treatment or you want payback. Cycles of revenge and counter-revenge have been at the heart of racial and ethnic strife throughout history, in countries around the world. It is a history written in blood. It is history we don't need to repeat in the United States of America.

Political demagoguery and political favoritism have turned groups violently against each other, even in countries where they have lived peacefully side by side for generations. Ceylon was one of those countries in the first half of the 20th century, before the politics of group favoritism so polarized the country-- now called Sri Lanka-- that it produced a decades-long civil war with mass slaughters and unspeakable atrocities.

The world has been shocked by the mass slaughters of the Tutsis by the Hutus in Rwanda but, half a century ago, there had been no such systematic slaughters there. Political demagoguery whipped up ethnic polarization, among people who had co-existed, who spoke the same language and had even intermarried.

We know-- or should know-- what lies at the end of the road of racial polarization. A "race card" is not something to play, because race is a very dangerous political plaything.

Indian in the Coffeeshop

An Indian walks into a cafe with a shotgun
In one hand, pulling a male buffalo with the other.
He says to the waiter:

"Want coffee."

The waiter says, "Sure, Chief. Coming right up."

He gets the Indian a tall mug of coffee.
The Indian drinks the coffee down in one gulp,
Turns and blasts the buffalo with the shotgun,
Causing parts of the animal to splatter everywhere
And then just walks out.

The next morning the Indian returns.
He has his shotgun in one hand, pulling
Another male buffalo with the other.
He walks up to the counter and says to
The waiter.

"Want coffee."

The waiter says "Whoa, Tonto!
We're still cleaning up your mess from yesterday.
What was all that about, anyway?"

The Indian smiles and proudly says...

"Training for position in United States Congress:
Come in, drink coffee, shoot the bull,
Leave mess for others to clean up,
Disappear for rest of day."

It's funny because it's so true...

The Fence Test

Catfish sent me this test today and it seems to be pretty accurate to me...

If you ever wondered what side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!

If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A liberal will delete it because he's "offended".

So which side of the fence are YOU on?

With that in mind, look for this new sport the next time you go to the driving range !

I couldn't tell if he hit anything, but it sure looked like a good time.

Want strong bones? Drink some beer!

Photobucket

The Ancients knew that drinking beer contributed to good health, and it seems that modern science is just relearning some of what they knew.

I dedicate this post to LC Mope, who must have some of the strongest bones around!

The Truth About Bottled Water

I have never understood why people could be so idiotic as to pay for something they already have, and are already paying for...

CDC Alert!

Very important information has just been
made public that I think is something you should all be aware of:
Gonorrhea Lectim. The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about a new virulent strain of this old disease.

The disease is called Gonorrhea Lectim.
It's pronounced "Gonna re-elect 'im." The disease is contracted
through dangerous and high-risk behavior involving putting
your cranium up your rectum. Many victims contracted it in 2008, but now most
people, after having been infected for the past 1-2 years, are starting to
realize how destructive this sickness is.

It's sad because it is so easily cured with a new procedure just coming on the market called Vo-tem-out! You take the first dose/step in 2010 and the second dosage in 2012, and simply don't engage in such behavior again, otherwise it could become permanent and eventually wipe out all life as we know it.

Several states are already on top of this like Virginia , New Jersey , and now Massachusetts , with many more seeing the writing on the wall. Please pass this important message on to all those bright folk you really care about.

The Bathtub Test

During a visit to my doctor, I asked him, "How do you determine whether
or not an older person should be put in an old age home?"

"Well," he said, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a
teacup and a bucket to the person to empty the bathtub."

"Oh, I understand," I said. "A normal person would use the bucket
because it is bigger than the spoon or the teacup."

"No" he said. "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed
near the window?"

Quotes of the Day

"It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favors." --George Washington

~~~O~~
"The general principles upon which the Fathers achieved independence were the general principals of Christianity… I will avow that I believed and now believe that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.”
• “[July 4th] ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.”--John Adams
~~~O~~

"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net.

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

" -- John Adams

~~~O~~
God governs in the affairs of man. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured in the Sacred Writings that except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. I firmly believe this. I also believe that, without His concurring aid, we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel” –Benjamin Franklin Constitutional Convention of 1787
~~~O~~

“It cannot be emphasized too clearly and too often that this nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason, peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.” Patrick Henry [May 1765 Speech to the House of Burgesses]

~~~O~~
“God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift from God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that His justice cannot sleep forever.”--Thomas Jefferson (so much for a Deist not being religious!!)
~~~O~~

“ We’ve staked our future on our ability to follow the Ten Commandments with all of our heart.”

“We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We’ve staked the future of all our political institutions upon our capacity…to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.”--James Madison [1778 to the General Assembly of the State of Virginia]

~~~O~~
"Although guided by our excellent Constitution in the discharge of official duties, and actuated, through the whole course of my public life, solely by a wish to promote the best interests of our country; yet, without the beneficial interposition of the Supreme Ruler of the Universe, we could not have reached the distinguished situation which we have attained with such unprecedented rapidity. To HIM, therefore, should we bow with gratitude and reverence, and endeavor to merit a continuance of HIS special favors". --George Washington[1797 letter to John Adams]
~~~O~~

I can go on and on, but those that believe that we are not a Christian Nation founded by religious men won't care to be corrected in any case.

They still believe that "Separation of Church and State" is ensconced in the Constitution, though I've never had a believer of that "truth" show me exactly where that edict is in the Constitution. ( and no the 1st Amendment doesn't excise god from government;it says we all have freedom to worship as we personally wish; it is freedom OF God, not freedom FROM God.)

Finally !

Finally, there is a Muslim willing to publicly denounce terrorism and extremist Islamic ideology. A woman in Saudi Arabia, no less!

Photobucket

Hissa Hilal made it to the final round of a poetry competition show with a blistering fifteen stanza poem on the evil of extremist fatwas by Muslim clerics. The show, called 'The Millions Poet" is the Saudi version of 'The X Factor' here in the U.S..

The final contestant wins a prize of $100,000,000.

I applaud Mrs Halil for her bravery in making such a public stand.

GO HISSA!!
