every day we hear about how we should "go green" and try to switch to the use of more bio-fuels to "help save the planet". It's a noble cause, but it seems that the "science" used by the Greens, as usual, fails to live up to the end goal in the real world.
Bio-fuels may actually be contributing to the problem.
Here in the U.S. there has been a great push towards using more and more ethanol fuel. The Greens say it will help lower greenhouse gasses and extend the life of oil reserves. Sounds great in theory, but in practice it DOESN'T WORK. The practice has made the price of corn go up exponentialy, raising food prices ever upwards. Ethanol is less energy dense than regular gasoline, forcing the user to burn more fuel for the same amount of work. In the end, while ethanol does burn cleaner, the extra amount burned means the end amount of pollution produced will be the same, or can actually be higher in some components. You have to factor in the pollution caused in the farming of bio-fuels to have a true comparison of use/pollution ratios.
The problem with all of the alternative energy sources, with the exception of nuclear power generation, are less efficient/more costly/less reliable than fossil fuels. But trying to get a nuclear power station built is nearly impossible with the anti-nuclear activists blocking that path at every turn.
The greens espouse electric vehicles as being the best way to go, but they always forget that you need to generate that electricity first. They also don't talk about the horrendous wastes generated in making the batteries for those vehicles, and the wastes of batteries past their useful prime.
I believe that hydrogen fuel cells are the way to go, but research and development in that area is pushed to the side in favor of the pet fuels du juor of the Green movement. As in everything, you need to follow the money and see where it leads...right now it's leading to a path of ruin.

Posted by: wow gold hack 4.3 at September 21, 2011 04:39 PMIf you're still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you'll know which is right for you.
Posted by: play flight of the hamsters at September 21, 2011 05:02 PMVery interesting subject, regards for putting up.
Posted by: play frontline defense at September 21, 2011 06:14 PMUsually I do not read post on blogs, but I wish to say that this write-up very pressured me to take a look at and do so! Your writing style has been amazed me. Thank you, very great post.
Posted by: seo in kent at September 22, 2011 08:56 PMThe new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.
